Misty Mountains

A long and winding road, yellow ribbon snaking beside the river
The river, misting like its name, a watery dinner plate
Greens, every hue, by land and by sea, the colour of life
Life

Every moment of it a gift, reverently placed in our care
Snow on the mountains
Euphemism loftily held high
The rock, which cries out, heaves upward with grace
Gracefully ageless, aging gracefully
Wear your wisdom, women, wear it with honour for the gift
Earned in the day by day grind, earned in the trenches of life that teaches
Earned in our growing families, our growing relationships, our growing love
Love
Every definition falling far short of truth, though striving, striving as high as those snow capped peaks
Lunch with friends revealing our shortcomings and being satisfied
Shared meals finding the definition of love, of life

Coffee with family, a time to share wisdom and stories and laughter and love that grows with a lifetime
Understanding the gift of life itself, from every minuscule part of it, in awe
I stand in awe, in amazement at the wonder of creation, of the Creator
Life-giver, the name given to women who share in this mystery
Sharing information and passions, in discussion, through teaching, in humility
That humility, the one that reminds us we only have a few answers, not all, not at all

But the colours, the orange and yellow and gold giving way to the spruce green surprise, the gift of green, of life, where we are reminded that seasons come and go and with them, the passage of time
Snow on the mountains
Euphemism, worn with pride
Food shared, laughter and passions, babies all grown
Where orange guilds the clouds and green sky shows, a surprise
A thousand words can not possibly give the insight to this picture, a thousand words telling but not giving sight to the green sky, the brightness, the peach hues on the cotton candy clouds
Time well spent, food satisfying both body and soul
Copper penny brightness, shining right inside
Long winding highway, yellow ribbon snaking beside the river

Music for the ears, for the soul
Snow on the mountains, mist giving silver highlights, silver tones
Silver, the gift of wisdom, the right to be heard.
Giving all glory to the Creator, God the Father, Giver of Life
In gratitude and lack of comprehension for all that He has done, limited understanding, yet gratefulness in abundance, O my soul
