Warm Thoughts

Must still be in the 20's outside. Today was what a summer day should be! Lakeside, kayaking, ice cream and a sunburn.
Putting a camper together is a team effort, one shared by everyone, whether painting, crafting shelves, tearing down, building up or sewing curtains. The cushions have been re-covered, walls have changed colour, roof has been redone and fresh fabric hangs inside too. This is our old camper, the one our tree-hugger is renovating to be his new temporary home. So many things for him are becoming new, including his collar bone! He will live in the camper while healing up from a significant surgery to take place next week. Have you ever lived one-handed? What were some of the challenges?
We have enjoyed our busy home over the last few days, having adult children in our midst. Music playing, trips to the lake, BBQ's and dinners made together. We are feeling some freedom, no one to check in with when we feel like taking off. I am still very much in holiday mode, though I am back to work. Since my work is so much my joy, it is not onerous to go in for the few hours a week. Tomorrow, we have our annual outdoor fun day. My co-worker has organized it all this year, with a grant boosting our usual day. The sun promises to make it lovely!
My man finds himself dreaming still of our trip. He has summarized his 2000 pictures in a 51 page file with captions along with a write up on a few typed pages. I know we will both be basking int eh joy of our trip for some time to come. Dreams are meant to be shared and meant to be realized when possible. This dream will be one we will never regret fulfilling! When our children all have families of their own, when they dream their own dreams, we will encourage them to find a way to make it happen!
So, warm thoughts. Hot days. Cool nights, warm skin. The day is coming to an eventual close, the visit to it's conclusion. We will miss our family as they dissipate, drive away. But far from home is never far from heart. And for this, I am grateful!
